About the Program Our child welfare focused "Prevention Programs" are located in three of New York City's highest risk communities, central Brooklyn, the Bronx (Hunts Point and Tremont), and Harlem. These programs help families care safely for their children while addressing underlying conditions that can lead to child abuse or neglect, such as parental depression, family stress, substance use or domestic violence. Using Solution-Based Casework, we actively work with parents to help them develop a more active, consistent and productive role in their child's educational and social development; we encourage families to build connections to positive supports in their community who will help them sustain their progress. The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision to Unit Case Planners in the implementing of the Goals and Objectives of the cases and to ensure responsive action is taken for clients needs, accurate and prompt communication with other agencies and regulatory bodies: provides first line response to clients in the case of emergencies, and provide direct casework as required; maintains a current understanding of regulatory requirements and agency polices and ensures compliance and a good standard of performance for assigned staff. Agency Wide Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Supervisor will attend agency meeting in the absence of the Program Director. To work with the Program Director in making outreach to outside community agencies, establishing effective communication with ACS, and providing direction to all of the staff members. To participate in activities sponsored by the agency and that are of benefit to families in the program. Agency Wide Duties and Responsibilities: + Ensures that case planners are making comprehensive family assessments using the Solution Based Casework method and work toward safe parenting, family well-being, restoration of functioning, or maintenance. + Guides case planners to provide parent skill development and coaching, case interventions, case management services in alignment with the Solution Based Casework Family Agreement. + Ensures that case planners make consistent home and school visits, and work in cooperation with other providers to assist the families with behavioral change. + Responsible for assisting the Program Director in carrying out agency and program goals and objectives, which include timely submission of all required reports, timely development of Family Agreement, FASPs, and progress notes with the use of Connections and PROMIS. + Co-lead or lead group activities and programs as assigned by Program Director. + Responsible for teaching Solution Based Casework and related skills to case planners and providing instruction on clinical skill development + Provide weekly individual supervision to case planners focusing on skill development and case-specific family progress. + Provide ongoing management direction and support to staff, ensuring correct implementation of Agency policies and procedures. + Provide supervision and coaching to assigned caseworkers, enabling them to provide appropriate and consistent services through ongoing training and skills development. + Ensure that efficient administrative procedures are in place within the unit. + Carry out casework reviews as mandated by regulation, ensuring compliance in program and records with government mandates and Agency policies. Develops Utilization Clinical Reviews, consumer satisfaction surveys and other quality assurance processes. + Ensures that high standards of timeliness and accuracy are maintained in case requirements, monitoring case planning and services provided. + Maintains and applies a current knowledge of preventive services, regulations and trains unit staff develops and maintains affiliations with community child welfare resources. + Provides client consultation and participates in management meetings, agency committees, interdisciplinary conferences as assigned. + Provides direct casework services to more challenging cases in order to accommodate family and program needs. + Attends regularly scheduled supervision, and courses and seminars for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing social work and supervisory skills. + Responds to client emergencies within or outside of office hours; maintains beeper coverage as needed. Physical Sensory Requirements: + Ability to read, write and converse in English. (Bilingual is a plus). + Ability to remain calms and composed under stressful situations. + Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling and other prolonged setting/standing. + Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make independent judgements/decisions. + Ability to communicate with other staff, and family as well as outside agencies that provide support to program participants.
