Road & Rail Services might be the perfect fit for you! Position Overview: As a Railcar Mechanic, you'll work hands-on inspecting and repairing railcars to keep them running safely and smoothly. Ideal candidates bring a solid mechanical skill set and a willingness to learn; previous railcar repair experience is preferred but not required. Welding experience is a plus, too! Above all, you'll need to be dependable, safety-conscious, and ready to tackle any challenge. Key Responsibilities: * Inspect railcars for wear, damage, and necessary repairs Complete authorized repairs to meet customer and AAR standards Operate essential mechanical equipment, including all-terrain vehicles and tractors Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment Required Experience: * Basic mechanical skills and knowledge Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., pipe wrenches, pry bars, ratchets) Physical & Environmental Requirements: * Ability to bend, squat, twist, and walk throughout your shift Independence and efficiency in completing tasks Capable of applying 90 lbs. of pulling force and 68 lbs. of pushing force to open railcar doors Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise What We Offer: * Comprehensive benefits, including Medical and Dental coverage 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Vacation and Holidays Annual Steel Toe Boot Allowance All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided Veteran-friendly and promote-from-within culture Annual safety bonuses And much more!
