Responsibilities Maintenance Technician URGENTLY HIRING The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, light HVAC, test and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventative maintenance and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision for the purpose of maintaining the facility for patients, staff and the public in a safe operating condition. Maintains preventative maintenance and resolves immediate operational and/or safety concerns. 1. In order to reduce the risk of human injuries, follow applicable policies and procedures. 2. Perform all tasks such as painting, carpentry, plastering, sanding, plumbing, electrical, preventative maintenance, HVAC and tests and inspections of the physical plant. 3. Clean and change air filters as required through the Preventative Maintenance Program. 4. Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility. 5. Maintain facility grounds in a neat and attractive appearance. 6. Operate and maintain emergency power plant. 7. Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed. 8. Perform preventative maintenance electrical tests as well as the removal, installation and repair of all mechanical/electrical equipment with direct supervision of a supervisor. 9. Perform various janitorial duties. 10. Responsible for keeping tools and materials in good condition and in their proper location. 11. Responsible for taking necessary safety precautions when handling hand/power tools and equipment. 12. Take appropriate precautions ensuring proper tag out and lock out procedures when working on equipment. 13. Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, Safety and Risk Management Plans and policies and procedures. 14. Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventative environment. 15. Use time constructively and in an organized manner. 16. Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS and state regulatory agencies. 17. Inspects systems and their components for purpose of ensuring compliance with state regulations, cleanliness and safety and for the purpose of identifying repairs needed. 18. Prepares documentation and/or materials reports for the purpose of providing written support, conveying information or signage as needed. 19. Repairs various items, systems or components (safety rails, plumbing fixtures, furniture, toilets, water systems, lighting, security systems, carpeting, vinyl floors) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition. 20. Coordinates with other personnel or vendors for the purpose of providing information necessary for making decisions regarding maintenance of the facility. 21. Transports various items (tools, equipment, supplies, furniture) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required to complete the job or work order. 22. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving safety concerns and/or maintaining facilities in operational use. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Two (2) years of technical or trade school preferred. Experience: Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Knowledge of Life Safety Code and OSHA preferred. Licensure: Must have valid driver's license. Additional Requirements: Trained in CPI prior to being released from orientation.
