The successful candidate will be highly motivated, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can lead others in achieving company goals. They must be willing to take on any Fit Accuracy and Quality challenges that arise and be ready to assist and guide others in their areas of responsibility. This individual will play a key role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Overall Quality, fit accuracy, sustainability plans and methods in collaboration with the engineering team. This role carries broad responsibility and significant influence over the quality of the vehicle. Regular duties will include responding to line calls for out-of-control processes, supporting quality improvement projects, and assisting with the qualification of new equipment and processes introduced to the manufacturing line. The candidate will work closely with Engineering to investigate issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives while managing their workload with a positive attitude and a team-player mindset in a collaborative environment. The individual will be responsible for managing technicians on a day-to-day basis, coordinating schedules to provide 24/7 support to the body shop, and organizing daily activities to support both engineering efforts and production issue resolution. Additionally, they will attend meetings, provide feedback to the technician and engineering teams, and effectively communicate during discussions to resolve issues. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential for this role. * Manage and coordinate technicians' schedules, ensuring 24/7 support for the body shop, while organizing daily activities to support engineering and production needs. * Respond to line calls and address out-of-control processes, ensuring prompt and effective solutions to quality-related issues. * Collaborate with Engineering to support investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and the qualification of new equipment and processes. * Conduct root cause analysis of dimensional issues, implement corrective actions, and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences. * Maintain and update problem tracking systems, trend tracking for body fits, and use Excel to input, analyze, and resolve data-related issues. * Provide input on jig modifications and adjustments in the BIW (Body-in-White) process, ensuring proper maintenance and optimization of fitting jigs. * Attend meetings, communicate feedback effectively with technician and engineering teams, and contribute to problem resolution with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality. * Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal. * Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team of technicians. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions. * Proficient in using manual measurement tools and fit specifications in BIW and GA (General Assembly) processes; understanding of how to fit a car. * Knowledge of BIW operations, jig maintenance, and the ability to adjust fitting jigs to meet quality standards. * Experience with data analysis and the ability to use Excel to track, analyze, and resolve production and quality issues. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and work collaboratively with engineering, production, and quality teams.
