Position Summary The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control functions of the organization. This role will ensure accurate and timely financial information, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and technical skills to guide the finance team and enhance the company's financial health and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Analysis Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and report findings to the executive team. Manage and oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all financial records and ledgers. Budgeting and Forecasting Support the annual budgeting forecasting processes, working with department heads to create accurate projections. Provide insights and financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational decision-making. Monitor budget adherence and report on variances, proposing actions as needed. Internal Controls and Compliance Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including tax filings. Support audits (internal and external), preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Team Management and Development Assign and support the work of the accounting team, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to identify and implement process efficiencies. Cash Flow and Treasury Management Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support business operations and investment strategies. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring optimal working capital management. Manage relationships with financial institutions, lenders, and external auditors. Financial Systems and Process Improvement Oversee the use of accounting software and systems, ensuring functionality aligns with company needs. Drive process improvements and automation efforts to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Support finance-related special projects, such as system upgrades, acquisitions, or financial restructuring. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with 1+ years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of financial analysis/reporting. Proficiency in financial software, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills Experience in hospitality Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
