Rotating weekends every 1.5-2 months and additional shifts depending on community needs may be possible. Starting Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience, plus the possibility for on-call bonuses Summary: The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant department, including performing routine servicing and seasonal repairs. Primary Responsibilities: * Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs. * Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor. * Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor. * Performs minor building and equipment repairs. * Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. * Assists with snow removal efforts during the winter. Other Duties: * Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned. * Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition. * When qualified, assists the Director of Plant and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators. * Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. * Supports security position by picking up shifts as needed. * Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: * High school education. Technical schooling and/or background preferred. * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
