Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Position Title Project Manager, Learning and Instruction Classification Title Project Staff Associate Department Learning and Instruction Posting Number R240246 Posting Link Employer Research Foundation Position Type RF Professional Type Full-Time Appointment Term Salary Grade E.99 Posting Detail Information Position Summary The Institute of Education Sciences (IES)-funded national Center for Early Literacy and Responsible AI (CELaRAI) is seeking a Project Manager. CELaRAI's mission is to harness the power of generative AI to innovate K-2 literacy education, with a focus on supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. By developing AI-driven reading tools, CELaRAI aims to improve students' literacy skills while also providing national leadership on the responsible use of AI in early literacy through wide-reaching dissemination, outreach, and capacity-building efforts. Working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI)/Director, the Project Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of CELaRAI, ensuring the smooth execution of its research, development, and outreach activities. This includes coordinating tasks across project teams, managing timelines and budgets, liaising with school partners and advisors, and facilitating communication among internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, and a background in education or project management is preferred. The role will involve collaboration with interdisciplinary team across six institutions, and partner schools in multiple states to ensure the project's goals are met effectively and efficiently. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Coordinating CELaRAI's research and development activities, ensuring smooth execution across all phases. * Facilitating administrative coordination within UB and managing collaborations with subaward institutions. * Supporting personnel administration, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management. * Managing financial aspects of the center, including monitoring budgets, general ledger activities, and preparing financial reports. * Planning and organizing CELaRAI's internal meetings, outreach events, and other activities. * Managing website content, social media, and other public-facing communications to ensure clear and timely updates. * Coordinating internal progress reports and preparing comprehensive annual reports for submission to the funder. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field in an appropriate field and at least three years of specifically related administrative experience to projects or programs involving external sponsors. * Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse populations including faculty, advisors, staff, students, and partner schools. * Possess a strong sense of accountability and be self-motivated. * Experience with program and/or event planning. * Experience with design and development of communication materials, including social media and website maintenance. * Possess and display a high-level of customer service to all constituents. * Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Preferred Qualifications * Masters degree. * More than two years of experience providing executive level support. * Experience in higher education environment. * Experience with research & development activities. * Experience with University at Buffalo policies, procedures, and administrative systems. * Strong computer design skills to upgrade the media communications of the center. * Experience with website, video and graphic design software. * Experience with universal design and/or creating accessible content and events. Physical Demands typical office work environment; ability to visit local partner schools. Salary Range $55,000 - $60,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate. Work Hours 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (may involve some evenings, and Saturdays, on occasion.)
