What you get to do: Oversee the design and development of new attraction projects for SEA's domestic theme parks. Establish project budgets and schedules and develop project programs and scopes for attractions. Coordinate work with park and corporate leadership in order to ensure strategic alignment and proper completion, according to SEA's capital development plan. Position is based in Orlando, Florida, and reports to the VP, Engineering & Project Management. In support of VP, Engineering & Project Management: * Manage the project development process for attractions. Ensure timely completion of project milestones, including funding approvals. Support Attraction development efforts, from concept development to completion of design, as well as project estimating and scheduling. Approve selection of architectural & engineering consultants; oversee & direct their design efforts throughout the development process. Support bidding and approval of contractor selection, as well as the contracting process. Ensure a smooth transition through the hand-off of the project to the project execution team. * Coordinate technical details for attraction projects, including site and system engineering, ride development and design (in support of the Rides and Engineering team), creative and thematic integration, and construction feasibility. * Actively track scope, schedule, and spend on all Attraction projects. Organize the review and tracking of park sundry capital between park and corporate engineering, as needed. * Maintain roster of external creative, design and construction resources, manage all key SEA Develop, implement, and maintain SEA Capital Projects Controls and Procedures, design standards for capital projects, and specifications for capital equipment, engineering systems, construction work, and material selections. Seek out and vet new specialty vendors, design professionals, and construction contractors for attraction projects across all parks. * Provide oversight of attraction capital projects to the SEA project management teams, as assigned. Provide training and support as needed to ensure widespread, consistent, and proficient use of project management software, tools, and processes. Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency of project management tools, and to optimize the results achieved. Strong organizational skills. * Ability to analyze complex project issues & develop effective plans and strategies. * Ability to effectively guide a diverse group of design & engineering professionals and project managers, and flourish in a team environment. * Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously * Technical & functional knowledge of architectural and engineering systems required on attraction projects in a theme park environment. * Technical and function knowledge of the means and methods of construction, project estimating, and project scheduling. * Ability to travel frequently. * Position is based in Orlando, Florida. * Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline- REQUIRED * Minimum of ten years' experience at a management level, in engineering design, project development, and construction management, preferably in the amusement park industry- REQUIRED * Professional licensure or ability to attain licensure is preferred.
