We are looking for an experienced food runner who has experience with high volume, sophisticated properties and has knowledge of the Metro Detroit fine dining scene. The responsibilities for the food runner include: Prepare your station before service, ensuring all necessary items are stocked and organized for efficient operation. Familiarize yourself thoroughly with our menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, to address guest inquiries accurately and accommodate special dietary needs. Collaborate closely with servers, chefs, and other staff members to facilitate smooth communication and timely delivery of dishes to the appropriate tables. Maintain a keen awareness of the dining room layout and table configurations, ensuring each table is set correctly according to the menu items ordered. Work swiftly and efficiently to deliver plates to the correct tables promptly, while ensuring presentation and quality standards are upheld. Anticipate and address any potential issues or delays in service proactively, communicating effectively with the service team to resolve them promptly. Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the overall operation of the restaurant and uphold our standards of excellence. In addition to the above, we look for people that possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the role. We are always willing to train anyone with the right attitude and desire to grow, as you can't teach hospitality. Prior experience in a high-end dining environment preferred, with a strong understanding of fine dining service standards and protocols. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues. Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances, maintaining a positive attitude at all times. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
