Maintenance Technician Contract Duration 6+ Months Onsite/ Remote: Onsite Parsippany Pay range $23 - $24/hr Hours: typically 8 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5 pm Top Skills Needed: Someone dependable Knows how to use a hammer and screwdriver Mechanically inclined Looking for career longevity on resumes Light maintenance work Painting Light plumbing Light sheetrock work Job Description Maintenance Technician will provide timely response to various requests generated by our users; daily set-up/take-down of audiovisual and/or furniture necessary to support the daily demand for meetings; and the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of building and grounds. Assist with repairs and preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, MHE, warewash and general facility equipment. Utilization of different types of power tools and testing equipment. The ability to learn the use of the Client. Maintain a safe attitude at work and behave in a safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries. Strictly adhere to all safe operating procedures as described by your supervisor and through safety training programs. Identify and communicate possible corrective actions to eliminate or reduce safety hazards to your supervisor, the health and safety committee, and/or occupational safety. Facilities Operations: Response to, and completion of, all applicable Facilities Service requests through the Facilities Dispatch Desk including setting up of Conference/Meeting rooms for meetings or events (i.e. audiovisual equipment, furniture, and equipment), policing of outside grounds and general upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of building, grounds and general facility equipment. Maintaining daily copy paper inventory at all building copy areas; as well as supplying and installing all necessary paper, toner and associated supplies. The maintenance Technician will perform weekly personnel and equipment relocations as necessary Execution: Assist with the installation and maintenance of equipment and supplies to support the safety of the operations. Assist with HVAC and related equipment repairs and preventive maintenance on all electrical, mechanical, material handling, warewash and general facility equipment. Provide daily report of assigned work tickets status, material and parts usage from inventory, and work performed to the Facilities Dispatcher. Maintain parts inventory and ordered required material as required to complete assignments. Respond to hot/cold requests from users and perform implementation of corrective action utilizing the Building Management System. Standards / Best Practices / Continuous Improvement: Test and inspect all emergency and life safety systems to meet NFPA, OSHA, and all agency standards and log readings: (boilers, compressors, dust collectors, steamer generators, exhaust fans, etc.). Align facilities activities which support strategic Corporate Sustainability programs. Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for your position, as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to your supervisor. Utilization of proper personal protective equipment and tools needed for completing work in an appropriate and safe manner. Install and maintain equipment and supplies to support the safety of the operations. Employ safe working postures and material handling techniques to avoid injury. Report all hazardous conditions, behaviors, workplace accidents, injuries, and/or near misses to your supervisor. High school graduate with technical/vocational training in related fields 8 to 10 years experience in the related fields Computer experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects. Must be able to effectively communicate (both written and oral) with employees of all levels. Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and work well under pressure in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment. Knowledge of PLC and how to utilize them to troubleshoot problems. The ability to use electronic testing equipment, and hand and power tools. Complete daily work orders and reporting as per departmental guidelines Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and maintenance manuals. Leadership skills to motivate and develop a team atmosphere. Use various types of lifts: Skyjack lift, material-handling equipment such as forklift and hand pallet truck. Knowledge of Auto is a plus.
