Qualifications - Required High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of commercial building maintenance Knowledge of software programs designed for completing/organizing work orders Must be able to read simple measuring devices and understand simple specifications Experience troubleshooting and repairing heating and cooling systems, pumps, fans, etc. Must be familiar with chillers, gas-fired boilers, building automation systems and all controls including electric, digital, and pneumatic. Must be able to perform general trade work, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, & roofing. Must be able to use a scissor lift to access high ceilings Must be able to work independently and/or with others as assigned Must be able to work with all levels of staff Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) Able to speak English clearly and accurately Valid NJ Driver's license Able to pass the Criminal History Review Able to pass Pre-employment Physical Qualifications - Desired Associates Degree HVAC Black Seal License CFC Certification, EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification Additional HVAC certifications and/or licenses Ability to repair commercial kitchen equipment, standby generators and transfer switches Ability to repair/maintain associated plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls. Duties/Responsibilities Assists HVAC certified staff to Troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, modify, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service Performs general building maintenance as directed, to include, but not limited to, rough and finish carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, and roofing Installation and mounting of classroom whiteboards, bulletin boards, clocks, and any other objects that need to be mounted into the wall Operates various pieces of light construction equipment/machinery in a safe manner.
