About the role POSITION SUMMARY This salaried OTR CDL CLASS A driver role will receive and transport hazmat liquid material to designated facility while adhering to safety measures required for each site entry. GUARANTEES: a consistent paycheck with a schedule of 21 days on/7 days off or 42 days on/14 days off. WORK LOCATION: This position allows worker to be located in NC, SC TX or GA. (You will be responsible commute to the Sumter SC or Texarkana TX to pick up company truck). BONUS! If you pass spontaneous DOT pull overs- get $500 bonus per DOT stop if you pass with a level 1, 2 or 3. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner and always comply with DOT, company, and customer safety standards. Perform required safety checks as outlined by DOT. Effective safe driving - ability to follow spotters' instructions and follow safe backing protocol. Report all incidents affecting the transportation of material (accidents, safety defects, etc.) Camera is on all vehicles to ensure safety. Safely maximize working day to fullest extent possible while complying with DOT guidance Operate safety equipment when required. Review issued documentation of materials to shipper/consignee for accuracy. Interpret issued documentation for shipping, receiving and/or load acceptance and rejections with review of completion based on actual shipping weights. Track his/her effective time management with integrity throughout the life of a job or run. Check last container to ensure RCRA empty status before loading. Maintain accountability of movement weights. Complete all required inspections of cargo, tractor/trailer, and equipment. Provide plan routes for shipping/receiving. Communicate effectively with government safety regulators; comply with request in a timely manner. Effective professional and clear communication with staff. Keep equipment clean (interior/exterior) and provide operational levels of fluids. Learn, maintain, and operate equipment (RR/VP/BV/WK etc.). Provide requested support to customers or special loading/unloading locations. Maintain daily log of completed work with written chronological tracking of arrival, starting and completion times, maintaining HOS logs. Operate standardized electronic log devices and one-of-a-kind equipment. Perform duties assigned by management staff as requested. QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to drive manual transmission vehicle. Possession of 2 years verifiable, Class A CDL, driving experience with 2 years' experience pulling a tanker. Tanker and hazmat endorsements with no restrictions on the CDL. TWIC card preferred but can be obtained upon hire. Have zero careless/reckless driving charges within the last five years. Must not have a conviction of an offense involving the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol within the past five years. No criminal convictions of operating a CMV involving operating while under the influence of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance or a felony involving the use of the CMV. Pass refinery hair follicle drug screen and background. GED/HS Diploma preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching. May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs. Consistently work in various weather conditions.
