Located in SoHo, NYC Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef at Happier Grocery, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficiency and adherence to food safety standards. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality. Manage inventory and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal and special menu items. Assist in maintaining cost control measures to ensure profitability. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive team environment. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen. Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
