Overview The Production Supervisor at Cook Vandergrift provides direction and leadership to the production team while emphasizing department and company goals. Responsibilities * Responsible for the work of others and meeting production schedules• Maintain training and production documentation of production operators• Assist in scheduling work assignments• Assist in evaluation of new production operators as well as present operators• Assist in the training of production operators• Assist production manager and process engineer in implementing new procedures• Read and understand specification for product being manufactured• Fabricate raw materials into specified products through various mechanical and/or manual techniques• Perform various inspections or testing as required• Complete necessary documentation• Inspire self-improvement and high morale• Maintain superior rapport with others• Delegate responsibility effectively• Ability to discuss strong and weak points with individuals• Maintain harmony and cohesiveness within department * Make recommendations for staff and have significant input into personnel matters• Assist in tracking and recording employee attendance• Enforce all safety policies of the company• Insure all work areas are clean• Perform various computer functions• Perform routine maintenance on certain machinery used in production• Responsible for supervision of overall facility during shifts other than daylight• Provide input to manager to improve department operation and efficiency• Identify and report possible corrective actions and preventative actions• Works independently and as a team member, referring questions and problems to the production manager• Confidential access to new and existing product designs and plans• Confidential access to department wage information and personnel records• Responsible for the manufacture and/or packaging of quality products in a timely manner• Responsible for compliance to company's Quality Policy Manual• Responsible for compliance to company's safety policies Qualifications * Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years experience working for Cook * Must pass a post-offer physical exam and drug screening• Ability to read, write and understand product documentation and specification drawings in English• Basic computer entry/retrieval skills * Good judgment and organizational skills• Excellent written and verbal communication• Detail oriented• Ability to use measuring devices and gauges• Ability to get along with others Physical Requirements: * Good visual acuity• Good manual dexterity• Ability to occasionally lift a maximum of 30 pounds• Majority of day spent in clean, climate controlled labs requiring use of safety glasses * Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing of products
