Shift: C-Crew FRI & SAT = 5AM-5PM AND SUN & MON = 5PM - 5AM Purpose: This work instruction defines the role of the Maintenance Tech II who reports directly to and takes direction from the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibility: Adequately train other techs to ensure they are performing up to standard. As a Maintenance Tech II you will be required to mentor other techs to ensure adherence to equipment standards and safety regulations. " Assists maintenance supervisor in identifying deficiencies in training and development for team members. " Maintain a clean, safe work environment. Consistently addresses good safety practices with team members and will take immediate action should there be any safety violations committed. Ensure all tools and equipment are in working order and that they are in place and used in a safe, efficient manner. " Ensure consistent execution of job rotation through proper management and appropriate verification. " Lead pre-production exercises, manage full-line rotation and 5S implementation. " Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production equipment. " Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns. " Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment. " Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. " Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. " Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area. " Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. " Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering as needed. " Be able to learn and function all automated equipment. " Lead your area in continuous improvement, while accepting full ownership for area responsibility. " Demonstrate a positive approach and actively participate in various meetings. " Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustment of machines. " Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. " Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. " Analyze and resolves work problems or assists team members in solving work problems. " Work to maintain department KPI. " Support all Quality Improvement Team functions in a proactive manner, concentrating on elimination of internal and external customer concerns. " Perform other duties as assigned " To assist the Controls Engineer with troubleshooting issues on the equipment. " To help improve Overall Equipment Efficiency by using innovative ways to improve processes and equipment. " Works as a buffer between Controls and Maintenance to solve fewer complex issues with the automated equipment. " Capable of solving more complex technical issues than a maintenance tech. " Able to read and diagnose issues using electrical schematics. Qualifications : The following conditions will apply: " Less than four (4) occurrences as of posting closing date. " Must not have any active Corrective Actions beyond Verbal Warning as of posting closing date. " Must be able to work overtime when necessary. " A working knowledge of JIT processes and JTDS is essential. " Some lifting of heavy objects is required (up to 30 lbs). " Line and shift assignment is at the discretion of the Department Manager Be able to learn and function all automated equipment. " Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production equipment. " Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns. " Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment. " Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. " Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. " Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area. " Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. " Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering as needed. " Performs basic PLC troubleshooting on automated systems, using ladder logic and relay logic, minus any editing of logic. " Can understand and troubleshoot automation devices such as RFID, I/O modules, pneumatic valves, various sensors, VFD s, etc. " Works with vendors to solve issues and improve automated applications. " Able to identify and understand all automation devices and hardware at an intermediate level. " Is an expert at all tasks of a Maintenance Tech 1. " Is proficient at Robotic functionality and troubleshooting. Required Years of Experience: Four (2-4) years of college or university program certificate in Mechatronics preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience Technical Skills: " Basic Electronics " Test Equipment & Troubleshooting " Pneumatics Technology Fundamentals " Electrical-Mechanical Blueprint Reading " Digital Electronics Basics " Mechanical Systems " Robot Operations, Handling Tool, & Programming " Industrial Hydraulic Fundamentals " PLC Basic Programming OR PLC Basic Programming-Allen Bradley " Control Systems " Industrial Networks PLC Advanced Programming OR PLC Advanced Programming-Allen Bradley " Microcontrollers With Robotic Application Additional Information: PLC and robotics are not a necessity but a plus.
