Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: License Required or Compact License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Epic experience Job Description: - Primary responsibilities include working in the Telemetry unit with potential floating throughout the associated region.- Unit capacity includes 26 beds with patient ratios of 5:1.- The role involves working with conditions such as CHF, COPD, Cellulitis, ETOH Withdrawal, Kidney issues, and Dementia.- Monitoring responsibilities include reviewing strips with Tele Monitors.- Manage drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Insulin (not DKA protocol), and Narcotics (Comfort).- Utilize Epic for charting, with specific orientation provided.- Collaboration with a Charge Nurse and Nurse Aides, typically 4-5 per shift.- Participate in close observation monitoring utilizing camera systems.- Ensure collaboration with a hospitalist or intensivist in-house as well as a 24/7 Pharmacy and RT team.- Shifts cover from 1900-0730.- Expect cross-shift cooperation with SWAT team support.- Weekend shifts every other weekend, including holiday requirements.- Adhere to the professional dress code with no specific scrub color required.
