Position Type: Student Support Services/Special Education Licensed Practical Nurse Date Posted: 10/3/2024 Location: Marshall Street School Closing Date: until filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Licensed Practical Nurse Marshall Street School - $25.12 - $45.43 Grade 11 of the ESP Salary Scale 7 Hours/Day, 10-Month Work Year Minimum Requirements High School Diploma/GED. Must possess current MD LPN or RN License. Must be CPR and First Aid certified. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Willingness to be assigned to any site/assignment within Washington County Public Schools. Two years' experience working with children or combination of education and experience totaling two years. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications Ability to collaborate harmoniously with staff, students, and community. Ability to lift between 30-40 pounds in specified situations. Experience with Gastrostomy Tube, tracheotomy, and ventilator care. Interest and desire to work with children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs Role Responsibilities Under the Supervising Registered Nurse, provides direct nursing care to student(s) who requires medical support to attend to and access the instructional program. Assist with physical care and physical management of students, including toileting, feeding, and positioning, as needed and appropriate. Operate and assist with the care of student's medical equipment/classroom equipment. Provide training to school staff regarding the medical needs of the student. Communicates with school staff, medical personnel and families as directed by registered nursing personnel or administrators. Participates in training as required to update or maintain skills. Maintains accurate documentation of services provided. Provide educational support and management of students, as needed, during instructional and non-instructional activities. Demonstrates courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
