Overview We are seeking a Project Manager to support the National Institutes of Health's (NIH), world renowned National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities * Evaluate the current systems and protocols for the VPP operations group, including but not limited to the following: materials, equipment, data and document repositories, and internal request system. * Recommend usage improvements to the current systems as outlined above for increased automation, organization, and efficiency. * Coordinate as needed with other relevant NIAID groups to ensure that software is compatible with current VPP instruments. * Assist with the generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for usage of VPP systems and train VPP staff on these SOPs. * Produce the required documents which are needed to carry out business processes including analysis and survey assessments of internal workflows, inventories, and paperwork for service contracts. * Assist with maintaining and organizing the VPP SharePoint site, and other similar NIAID programs and systems, and assist in creating content in line with VPP's required and strategic goals. * Assist in the areas of receiving packages, delivering consumables from inventory, and ensuring vendor guests are escorted to the correct instrument for repairs, assist in cleaning up spills, and aiding in fire evacuation. * Assist VPP Document SME with evaluating the current Electronic Notebook system for usage and training. * Serve as a SME among the team for VPP specific software product lifecycle. * Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. * Aid the other scientific operation teams in package receiving and mark up, delivery of HULLC and inventory items, preparation of shipping paperwork and or delivery of materials within the building, spill response, instrument inventory, and emergency evacuation (hall sweeper). Qualifications * M.S. degree in an information technology field. * Minimum of 5 years of information technology experience required. * Bachelor's degree with 3 years of specialized experience in information technology will be considered. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Strong understanding of systems and current software technology. * Ability to work as a team member. * Experience with SmartSheet, laboratory information management system (LIMS), and electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) is preferred.
