Discover a more connected career as a Field Supervisor (supporting the Eastern Shore, MD area) This is an exciting opportunity to join the Operations Team at UtiliQuest, LLC as a Field Supervisor supporting our Mid-Atlantic Region. The Field Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Center Manager. In this role, the ideal candidate will manage the workflow of their employees, creating team schedules and delegating tasks. He/She will assess the work performance of their employees and identify areas that need improvement. The Field Supervisor will also ensure that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met, set goals for the technicians and make sure they comply with the company's plans and vision. What you'll do as a Field Supervisor: Build and supervise a team of Damage Prevention Technicians who are driven and understand the key performance indicators and economic engines of the business. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture for all employees. Conduct daily and weekly planning meetings to ensure quality control is in place. Conduct audits on field personnel to ensure quality standards are being met. Conduct performance reviews and provides regular performance feedback and development opportunities for technicians Create and maintain good working relationships with clients, excavators, regulators, employees, and the public Assist Center Manager in identifying strengths and weaknesses of Damage Prevention Technicians. Assist Technicians with locating difficult to find utilities. Collaborate with the HR and Talent Acquisition Team to identify staffing needs, interview and make final hiring decisions. Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance Validate and approve daily personnel time reports Develops, mentor and evaluate technicians and has the overall responsibility for employee engagement and morale. Complete JSO's (Job Safety Observations) of technicians Ticket production and weekend work required, as needed. Completes other duties, as needed What you'll need: High school diploma or GED required. One year or more of proven experience in utility locating or a similar field, with proven high quality results. Willingness to do overnight travel as needed. (up to 50%) Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, both in terms of performance and attitude. A positive safety mindset and a track record of safe work practices are essential for this role. Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of utility mapping, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Ability to deliver effective field training programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skill. Physical abilities & exposures: Completes and maintains all training Drive safely and follow company safe driving policies Maintain punctuality and attendance at all shifts and training sessions Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
