JOB SUMMARYSupervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Bachelor's degree is preferred or an Associate degree and five years of experience in supervising others. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected and has a history of proven successful accomplishments. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESKnowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site.Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components.Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility.Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes.Ability to lead department safety focus through performing daily 5S audits, train employees via weekly safety topic or through specific job training, respond to safety Correction Action Request (CAR) on time and by implementing action, monitor employee behaviors to ensure they are safe, and participate in monthly safety audits.Ability to lead department quality focus through performing daily Layered Process Audits (LPA's), take action to correct issues identified through LPA, respond to Quality Corrective Action Request (CAR) on time by implementing action and completing necessary paperwork to close, oversee material in hold area by coordinating with Quality for appropriate action and completing necessary paperwork for closure.Ability to lead department productivity focus through utilizing labor to maximize production in vacation scheduling and developing daily labor plan to cover absences and vacation, ensuring correct set up and operation of equipment, resolve equipment problems by working with maintenance and coordinating with engineering for long term resolution, ensure employee training takes place in a timely manner via LMS.OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for departmental control in reviewing and updating inventory/ship schedule/dispatch list, updating Hoshin Board, completing employee productivity reports and Supervisor Checklist/5S audit/stock rack audit.Responsible for completing employee Kronos by ensuring time is accurate and reasons for absence are listed daily.Responsible for issuing employee performance appraisals and disciplinary actions (attendance, performance, conduct, safety) in a timely manner and returning paperwork to Human Resources once complete.Responsible for imputing work orders in work order system for maintenance to respond to department needs.Responsible for obtaining supplies for operators from tool crib and vending machines.Leads zone team meeting and is responsible for updating information on Hoshin Board.Performs other duties as assignedSKILLS & ABILITIESAdvanced level of computer skills in all applicationsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSA minimum of an associate's degree and five years of manufacturing or equivalent experience.
