Description Summary: A Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, functional operating environment by completing assigned work order projects; performing a wide variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance activities (e.g. electrical, plumbing, ventilating systems, alarms, boilers, machines, equipment, utility systems, water treatment systems etc.); training and assisting other maintenance workers and ensuring that maintenance tools, supplies and materials are properly stored. A collaborative team player, the Maintenance Technician II embodies a positive, professional, proactive approach to his/her work. Primary Responsibilities: The following is a list of essential functions that the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for: * Work in support of cultivation, post-harvest, packaging, and laboratory operations to maintain and repair machinery and equipment. * Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment as needed. * Perform repairs of building and equipment. * Maintain logs for critical equipment as directed by Management. * Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by submitting material requisitions and verifying receipt. * Maintain a clean organized work space. * Assist and Train other maintenance/greenhouse workers when appropriate. * Respond as necessary to urgent facility/operations issues. Additional Responsibilities: The following is a list of responsibilities that the Maintenance Technician II may be required to complete: * Make safety a priority in all daily activities and attend weekly safety meetings. * Working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electric energy, working closely with others, working alone, working prolonged or irregular hours. * Cleans and inspects boiler(s) to minimize down time. Experience: Post-Secondary Education in a related field or 5 years of related and progressive work experience in a similar maintenance function. * Cart/Vehicle maintenance. * Conduct basic plumbing tasks as directed. * Conduct basic electrical tasks as directed. * Replace broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and installs windows. * Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. * Vehicle Maintenance. * Other duties as assigned. Health and Safety: * Reports all accidents and/or safety violations in a timely manner. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities requirements: * Time management and priority management skills * Proactive, self-starter requiring limited supervision and with a desire to work in a team environment * Analytical skills, and extreme attention to detail * Ability to apply common sense understanding * Ability to work weekends, afternoon, and evenings.
