The Field Service Technician is responsible for customer site services such as equipment and system installation, removal, troubleshooting, field service start-ups and commissioning. This includes the loading and unloading, general maintenance/repair of water and wastewater equipment, and customer training/support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides for general onsite and offsite equipment installation, service, start-up, commissioning, testing, and training for pumping equipment along with other various types of water and wastewater treatment equipment. Takes key roles in the troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and associated controls * Is responsible for assisting with customer service contracts as a Field Service Technician to perform timely preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Needs to be able to track time and materials needed to complete service calls * Is responsible for operating and maintaining all necessary tools and hardware for outside field service calls. Must also be responsible for using company vehicles, tools, etc. Operates company vehicles requiring a valid standard driver's license to use * Supports a safe workplace by adhering to the company's safety program. Will be required to travel to customer job sites for sales calls, quoting support, startup troubleshooting, service reviews, or repair of equipment Knowledge and Skill: * Field Service Technicians must be experienced and efficient in using personal and laptop computers, cell phones, and associated software and apps. The ability to read equipment drawings, process flow diagrams (PFD's), process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), electrical schematics, specifications, and manuals is required. The ability to read, interpret, troubleshoot, and modify control panels is helpful * The Field Service Technician position requires experience in analyzing and troubleshooting, water and wastewater treatment equipment and controls including pumps, valves, instrumentation, and general automation. A basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, and pumping equipment are needed * Ability to work with all kinds of hand tools, power tools, machinery, testing instruments, handheld instruments & devices Qualifications of the Field Service Technician include, but are not limited to: * A minimum of 10 year's experience working with pumps, pump stations, and rotating equipment. Proven track record of troubleshooting & maintenance of equipment Additional Information: Physical Demand: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and equipment in and out of service truck/van Working Conditions: Office Environment Training/Certifications: N/A Shift Time/Overtime: Needs to be able to work with a flexible schedule including occasional emergency calls. Some overtime may be available and/or occur depending on schedule. Travel: Must have a standard driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and be willing to travel to perform customer service visits. Some overnight travel is required.
