Workers' Compensation Clerk

Salary: $17.92- $26.91 SUMMARY Northeast Shared Services is seeking a Workers Compensation Clerk to join our dynamic Risk Management team. This role performs a variety of clerical tasks associated with the examining and processing of workers' compensation claims. This position must maintain a high level of courtesy and service to associates and outside vendors. The incumbent must possess and understanding and appreciation for the confidential nature of the work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform data entry and word processing. Prepare form letters and state agency report forms. * Monitor diary system and retrieve files designated claim file folders. Maintain records and prepare reports which may be complex in nature. * Reconcile wage payment computations and reviews submitted medical service bills for accuracy against fee schedules and UCR tables. * Verify coverage and eligibility with company Pharmacies, the on-site medical facility and other outside vendors. * Resolve routine questions; refer more complex inquiries to appropriate staff. * Enter all payment authorization requests into computer system. Tabulate, post and prepare required reports. * Maintain a thorough knowledge of departmental area and corporate policies and procedures. * Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Satisfactory performance reviews. * Strong communication skills. * Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High School diploma or equivalent. * 1+ years of related experience. The disclosed compensation range for this position is applicable within the state the position resides. The actual base pay offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The compensation range is one component of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Northeast Shared Services' total compensation and benefits package, which includes, 401(k), 401(k) match, paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, and more.
