Cafe Manager - (not) Pizza ABOUT: The purpose of this position is to ensure and assist the direct operation of the cafe property in line with the standards and expectations of ownership. Ensuring a workplace culture in line with company values, leading the team to consistently outperform guests' expectations, and assisting to maintain operation budgets for controllable expenses. RESPONSIBILITIES Operations: Assist in overseeing the daily operations in a manner with the owners' standards and procedures while growing sales and guest counts, enlarging market share and maximizing profitability. Help to ensure that the team consistently exceeds company standards for hospitality and service, food and beverage quality, and operational efficiency. Helps to ensure accurate coverage for all dining room shifts through the timely and accurate production of schedules, with the general manager. Ensure the accurate handling of cash across all shifts. Ensures that menus are accurate and updated in accord with changes, both in-store and online. Maintain an orderly approach to service, ensuring team members are performing the roles to which they are assigned and supporting as needed. Ensure any mandatory breaks are taken as necessary. Oversee closing operations of the restaurant as necessary, ensuring that team maintains established standards. Team Leadership/Support Help to lead the effort to attract, train, develop and retain employees. Ensure a safe, healthy, and equitable work environment for all staff. Lead the team in the discovery and execution of creative solutions when problems arise - always striving to maintain a positive outlook on the situation. Set goals for the service team and ensure their achievement. Coach, counsel and develop the service team to improve hospitality skills, grow sales and control costs. Maintenance Assist the General Manager in coordinating accurate list of maintenance needs and prioritizes appropriately. Administrative Ensure accurate tracking of Daytime and Nighttime tips to be paid to team - properly recorded, printed, and displayed. Ensure accurate communication of daily performance through the completion and distribution of closing logs. Work with the General Manager in supervising the YELLOW email, ensuring timely and accurate responses to guest inquiries. Communicating with guests in response to requests for donations, general inquiries, complaints, etc. Work with the service team to have accurate stock on property for paper goods, NA Beverage, Wine, Beer, and alcohol by placing orders as needed. Collaborate with finance, General Managers and Culinary to ensure that restaurant is operating within budgets. Monitor labor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. Contribute positively to the bottom line at restaurant, take all precautions to increase sales and improve profits.
