Job Responsibilities Are you an experienced professional looking for new opportunities to further your career? Under general supervision, the General Maintenance Tech II provides general maintenance, repair, and minor construction of the facility. These duties include but are not limited to performing building maintenance, construction, custodial, and horticulture maintenance to the facility and satellite offices. Responsibilities: * Complete routine maintenance repairs in a timely manner. * Documents current condition of electrical/mechanical equipment, furniture, and agency assets. * Assist the Facilities Manager and lead General Maintenance Technician with work projects. * Delivers supplies and/or equipment in a timely manner with minimal error. * Keep inventory of agency assets and equipment that is issued to surplus property. * Maintain a logbook of supplies and ensure quantity is maintained. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and one (1) year of experience in related trades or crafts area or general building maintenance or vending machine repair experience. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies used in the designated trade. Knowledge of techniques, methods, and practices used in the designated trade. Skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment. Ability to comprehend blueprints, plans, and specifications. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to perform arithmetic. Ability to communicate effectively. This position requires extensive travel statewide on a daily basis and the ability to pull, lift, push, or carry approximately 100 pounds. Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Required to be On-call 1 weekend per month. Occasional overnight travel.
