In addition to operations and maintenance, the following types of experience are also qualifying; law enforcement or security, firefighting, environmental education, environmental stewardship, natural resource management, forest management, wildlife management or preservation, or historic preservation or interpretation; OR One year of military service in any of the military branches; OR An Associate's or higher-level degree*, or 60 credit hours of college-level coursework; OR Completion of an appropriate two-year technical / trades school program or two years of experience as a trade assistant under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson. If verifiable, we will accept and prorate appropriate part-time and volunteer experience. * Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Regional Maintenance Supervisors, the incumbent will work in the Regional Maintenance Office, Bear Mountain Administration Building. Duties will include but are not limited to: * Completing purchasing, processing invoices, record keeping/filing, and answering phones. * Completing light cleaning. * Entering data and tracking inventory using the agency's programs, Budget Expenditure Tracking System (BETS), Statewide Financial Services (SFS), and Asset Cloud, et al. * Processing and entering Monthly Equipment Usage data into appropriate agency database. * Corresponding with regional and agency personnel, fellow staff members, vendors and service providers via telephone, email, fax and mail as needed. * Logging all leave requests, auditing employees' LATS time sheets for discrepancies and obtaining corrections before approval by Regional Maintenance Supervisors. * Monitoring seasonal employee total hours to ensure compliance with agency policies. * Completing, submitting, and filing all required seasonal employee paperwork. * Processing holiday/overtime forms and meal vouchers in a timely manner. * Tracking budget expenditures and advising Regional Maintenance Supervisor of discrepancies in actual vs. planned budget spending and hours worked. * Bringing health and safety issues to the attention of the Regional Safety Manager. Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS: * Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver's license as a term and condition of employment. * Must have the ability to communicate effectively, and to comprehend written materials. * Candidates should have strong experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience in other programs and database management is preferred but not required. Location Pay: The hiring rate will be the sum of the statutory hiring rate for CSEA Grade 9 ($41,399) and the Downstate Adjustment ($3,400). The job rate will be the sum of the statutory job rate ($50,884) and the Downstate Adjustment ($3,400).
