Overview Uptown Animal Hospital is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to lead our Patient Care Team! Location: 5545 North Clark St.Chicago, Illinois 60640United States Clinic Hours: M- F 8:30am-6pm Sat 8:30am-2pm Sun Closed Compensation: Up To $20/hr Veterinary Technician students enocuraged to apply! This is an opportunity for a motivated young technician to enhance their career in veterinary medicine! Our ideal candidate will be a student of or looking to start a Veterinary Technician Program! We are looking for individuals who will exhibit the passion for our mission of providing exceptional medical care to our patients and excellent customer service to our clients. Your daily responsibilities will include patient handling and care, client communication and education, surgical monitoring and procedures, laboratory and in-house diagnostic procedures, and hospital cleanliness. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills. * Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment. * Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. * The employee must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. * The employee must also be confident around pets.
