About the Employer The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary Job Summary The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) Systemic Leadership and Continuous Improvement (SLCI) unit provides professional development, consultation, and technical assistance for district leaders and school staff. This position will report to the SLCI Unit but will support Early Learning Services under the Curriculum, Instruction and Academic Enrichment (CIAE) Unit. The Early Learning team provides a wealth of research-based professional learning, coaching, technical assistance, and educational incentives for Orange County's early learning programs. The Orange County Department of Education is seeking a knowledgeable professional to serve as Project Manager, Educational Services. The Project Manager will assist coordinators of assigned educational programs by providing support to higher-level management and serving as a resource to school districts and community partners. Key responsibilities include recommending and implementing program goals, establishing methods for delivering specialized services, and ensuring the effective execution of policies and procedures. The role also involves coordinating tasks, organizing trainings, workshops, and meetings, and developing relevant materials to support the program's objectives. The position plays a vital role in facilitating program goals through action plans and strategic initiatives. The incumbent works closely with partners to develop work plans for curriculum, professional development, and resource management. Other duties include promoting programs through marketing materials, attending conferences, compiling reports to evaluate program effectiveness, and assisting with staff development activities. This position is grant-funded through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, course work in educational practices, academic enrichment, health education, business, human resources, or a related field. • Three (3) years of responsible experience in program management.
