We are Brooklyn based, owned and operated by the Oberon Group: the sustainability-focused organization behind beloved Brooklyn restaurants Rucola, June, Rhodora, and Anais. Who you are: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives in the corporate, non-profit, weddings and social catering markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients, and driving financial growth through innovative strategies. They will manage their own book of business, drive contract negotiation, generate forecasting reports-while upholding our commitment to sustainability. Develop Strategies: Formulate and implement effective business development strategies focused on increasing revenue and enhancing brand recognition. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at potential and existing businesses. Sales Process Management: Lead the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, proposal development, contract negotiations, and closing. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform business strategies. Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the performance of new business initiatives and report findings to senior management. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 8-10 years in New York catering sales with thorough understanding of the New York City catering, food, and beverage market. Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in identifying and executing new business opportunities. Excellent face-to-face, verbal, and written communication skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite Understanding of TripleSeat event platform Working knowledge of Asana, or comparable project management software Availability to work flexible hours to meet business demands Knowledge of and passion for the culinary sustainability space Skills and Competencies: Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities. Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in market analysis and identifying business trends. Salary and Benefits: Salary + Commission The average salary for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.
