Position: Accounting Manager - Apres Cru Hospitality Reports To: Controller Key Relationships: Apres Cru Partners, Salaried Managers, Vendors About the Position The Accounting Manager ('AM') is responsible for nurturing the financial culture of Apres Cru and its portfolio brands. The AM will play a critical role in the financial reporting process and oversee all aspects of the PandL. Coaching and teaching financial acumen are crucial for developing industry-leading practices within the operations, and we expect the AM to champion the financials. The position requires building close working relationships with the Apres Cru Controller, VP of Finance, Apres Cru Partners, and operators, participating in regularly scheduled operational financial meetings. Our growing portfolio includes PDT/Crif Dogs, Pig and Khao, Piggyback, Petit Trois Highland, Petit Trois Valley, Peasant, One Fifth, and Restaurant Marc Forgione, with more in the pipeline. Key responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping functions for Apres Cru restaurants and portfolio brands. Leverage technology to drive process improvement and design automation procedures. Consistently execute accurate and timely accounting reports. Lead the accounts payable process and develop key relationships with vendors. Record daily sales and generate accurate weekly financial reports. Assist with and audit inventory counts, entering weekly inventory into the accounting system. Manage period close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, operating expenses, financial review, statement review and strategic analysis. Business partnering with operations to drive efficiencies and increase profitability. Create and nurture a business-minded culture within operating restaurants. Monthly sales tax filing. This individual will primarily work remotely but is expected to visit restaurants at least once a week and as needed. They will also actively participate in the daily accounting for Apres Cru restaurants and portfolio brands. The AM will collaborate closely with restaurant operations to ensure accurate and timely reports. Keys to Success Passionate about restaurants, great food, and exceptional service. Adaptable and calm under pressure. Based in the NYC area or willing to relocate. Experience/Education Bachelor's degree required; Accounting or Finance degree preferred. CPA is a plus. 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role. Passion for excellence and attention to detail. Experience in hospitality is a plus. Proficiency in various technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Sage Intacct, Craftable, and Marginedge.
