We are looking for a motivated individual to serve on a team of Plant Maintenance Mechanics for Raleigh Water. The ideal candidate will perform skilled mechanical work in the operation and maintenance of all wastewater plant and pump station equipment.This exciting opportunity needs someone with knowledge of equipment installation and/or modification; analysis and reasoning skills to troubleshoot malfunctions and make repairs; and strong inspection skills to identify issues, confirm system corrections, and adjust equipment as necessary.You will also work with other mechanics regarding structured work preparation, handling associated work orders through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), cost sheets, work plan adjustments, and standard operating procedures.If this sounds like a job you can take on, we would like to hear from you! Duties and Responsibilities Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, upgrades, and installs machinery and equipment in a high volume, continuous-run working environmentReads and understands mechanical prints, electrical wiring diagrams and schematicsRepairs and replaces AC/DC motors, pumps, gearboxes, and enginesObserves and listens to mechanical performance to troubleshoot malfunction and test performance of equipmentPerforms inspections, adjustments, and replacement of defective parts.Ensures the mechanical maintenance work area, warehouse, and storage areas remain neat, clean, and orderlyCleans and repairs hand tools and power tools used for mechanical equipment maintenancePrepares job site, assembles and organizes equipment, tools, and materials; and maintains a neat, clean, and orderly job siteManages hard-copy library of equipment operations and maintenance manuals. Assists with completing preventative maintenance work ordersOperates forklift to complete work duties as assignedAssists with inspecting failed or malfunctioning mechanical equipment.
