We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Our Baristas learn and memorize our members' taste and can recommend drinks based on their preferences, up-selling special items and take their orders while offering exceptional service. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to foster a member focused culture. Delivering superior service to maximize member satisfaction. Perform opening and closing duties. Maintain the restaurant appearance and cleanliness standards. Utilize POS and related computer systems to ensure efficiency. Freeze stores: cutting, preparing, and serving products. Cleaning equipment and following proper food handling procedures. Maintaining a clean work area to company standards. Leads by example - reinforces company policy and ensures a safe and respectful work environment for all members. Support onboarding of new employees and continued training of selling team. Support order and inventory processes where applicable. Making sure all supplies are stocked and full throughout their shift. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products. Regularly review product quality Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations. Skills New York Food Protection Certificate preferred. This is a Guest facing position, sharp presentation and customer service skills needed. Familiarity with POS system Proven customer service experience Familiarity with how to service a juice bar and smoothies to order. Familiarity and comfort making coffee and espresso drinks. Passion, knowledge, interest in health, fitness, and/or wellness. Ability to build customer relationships and deliver exceptional service. Ability to quickly adapt and embrace new procedures, processes, and shifts to priorities. Excellent team player with ability to lead and work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proficiency in English. Previous retail, restaurant, or hospitality leadership experience preferred. Previous cash-handling and POS experience. Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. Hours vary Monday - Sunday, days, evenings, and weekends. Must have flexible availability including holidays. Physical Skills Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. You're on your feet most of the day. Use of hands to reach, grip, turn and perform precision work. You're using your hands to operate espresso machines. As needed squat, bend, twist and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders. For example, you may have to bend down or reach up to grab cups, lids, and towels. Ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. For example, you'll be handling bags of coffee beans, coffee kegs, crates of milk, tubs of dishes and trash bins. As needed climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and uneven floor and/or surfaces. Ability to smell and taste. You're tasting and smelling coffee and food, helping ensure quality control for each cup and plate.
