Lifeway's tart and tangy fermented dairy products are sold across the United States, Mexico, Ireland, and the United Kingdom."¯ Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician's position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the company's equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable for this position Duties/Responsibilities: * Able to follow directions for basic assembly and repair of equipment * Work with Level II and III mechanics on small projects, PMs, and breakdowns * Complete all required and necessary paperwork using CMM's program * Work production maintenance, and building grounds as needed * Must be able to perform tasks with little or no supervision * Lubricate / grease equipment * Basic welding skills and be willing to expand on these skills to include different types of welding (TIG and MIG) * Basic knowledge and troubleshooting of conveyors, packaging machines, pumps, various basic controls systems including relays, contactors, VFD, level sensors, heating controls, etc... * Maintain the maintenance shop and work area in accordance with Lifeway standards * Attain basic knowledge of HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems * Willingness to learn new processes and equipment. * Organizational problem solving and conflict resolution skills * Excellent communication and customer service * Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager Required Skills/Abilities: * Ability to follow instructions, read and speak English * Basic math and measurement skills Education and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent is preferred * Some experience necessary Physical Requirements: * Must be able to lift 50lbs * Strong physical endurance * Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift * Ability to kneel and maneuver through plant equipment Lifeway Foods, Inc is a growing Chicago-based beverage manufacturer with over 37 years of category leadership, and the nation's leading supplier of kefir.
