The Library Assistant II is an integral member of the Library Access Services team, tasked with facilitating the circulation of library materials and providing exceptional assistance to patrons regarding library policies and resources. This position also involves assisting with of the integrated library system's circulation features (Folio), collaborating with technical services to implement new functionalities, and troubleshooting technology-related issues that arise in daily operations. As a supervisory role, the Library Assistant II is responsible for hiring, training, and overseeing student circulation desk workers, working under the direct supervision of the Associate Director for Patron Services. What You'll Do * Provide comprehensive service at the Circulation Desk, including the check-in and check-out of library materials. * Manage the study room reservation system to optimize availability and enhance patron satisfaction. * Collaborate with the stacks manager to ensure effective shelving practices and material organization. * Liaise with Hesburgh Libraries to facilitate the acquisition of materials for Law faculty members. * Assist in the management and enhancement of the integrated library system's circulation features, providing user support and troubleshooting as needed. * Guide patrons in utilizing circulation-related technologies, including Meescan, Bookeye scanners, microform readers, and CCTB. * Recruit, train, and supervise student circulation desk assistants, promoting a collaborative and educational work environment. * Compile and analyze monthly and annual statistics on document delivery, borrowing, and shelving activities to inform service improvements. * Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of faculty publications in print, ensuring accessibility and organization.
