About Nomad Tea Parlour The Nomad Tea Parlour brings a fun and playful twist to the classic Chinese American bar, restaurant, and private event experience. The Nomad Tea Parlour Server Assistant   embodies a warm sense of hospitality and our core values to our guests. Compensation Band:  $16.00 per hour plus applicable tips and tip credit (10.65 with tip credit) Responsibilities Oversee and guide guest's complete restaurant experience Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, and energetic service at all times Coordinate with Server on smooth management of the section, emphasizing optimal pacing for the guest experience Maintain full menu knowledge for both food and beverage items, including all allergen information. This may include ingredient provenance and simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients or preparation methods. Adhere to all company service standards and protocols Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc. Assist the Server with effectively and respectfully communicating service and/or guest irregularities, such as 86s or other menu changes, to all FOH and BOH team members Assist the Maitre D in table turn time management and resetting for the next seating Set up, detail, and break down the floor and service stations to standards required Ensure glassware and silverware are polished, as needed Perform opening and closing duties to standards required Complete regular deep cleaning of the restaurant Set up and detail dining room and stations to standards required Stock and prepare service related items Maintain professional and warm guest communications Recognize key people in the industry, VIP guests and contacts related to the company and follow company protocol related to their visit Communicate respectfully and clearly with service team and management Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guest before, during, and after service Engage management for any escalated guest situations Adhere to Nomad Tea Parlour's Cleaning and sanitation SOPs Assist in bathroom maintenance as needed Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by manager Adhere to grooming and dress code standards Assist teammates to anticipate all other FOH needs Required Qualifications A positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as a desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflict Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment Ability to carry 50 pounds Going up and down several flights of stairs will be a daily requirement.  Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience in related role in a restaurant with a comparable service style and/or cuisine Ability to train new Float Servers in all aspects and responsibilities of the role A proven track record of dependability and a continuous focus on learning and development Physical Demands The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
