Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Day (United States of America) Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $83,000.00 - $126,875.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. What you will be doing Senior Project Manager Department of Medicine Full-Time Monday-Friday (on-site) Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Planning * Support the Physician-in-Chief (PIC)/Chair of the HSS Department of Medicine (DOM) in developing strategic plans for the Divisions of Rheumatology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone, Perioperative Medicine, and Infectious Disease, regional HSS sites and other affiliated hospitals (NewYork Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center) spanning clinical, research, and academic goals * Collaborate with the DOM PIC/Chair and the Chief Administrator of the DOM on space planning initiatives, development of departmental policies, and faculty recruitment efforts * Foster and strengthen communication and collaboration with WCM/NYPH, including management of all Medical Staff Agreements Clinical Operations * Assist Chief Administrator and Senior Director of Operations in implementing outpatient clinic templates and sessional optimization and efforts to enhance Physician Productivity, Patient Experience, and Physician Satisfaction. * Support DOM personnel in managing contractual obligations with WCM/NYPH * Develop and implement annual schedule for DOM coverage of inpatient consultation service at NYPH/MSKCC, night and weekend call, and Fellows Clinic teaching assignments. * Support DOM Quality Projects, Presentations, and implementation of quality programs and platforms Faculty Development * Support DOM faculty members with transitioning their careers (onboarding, retirement, increasing research focus, etc.) * Partner with the PIC/Chair to implement faculty annual reviews, as well as appointment and promotions pathways * Initiate faculty contract renewal discussions between PIC/Chair and Physician Services to ensure they are renewed in a timely manner and sufficient funding is earmarked for salary support * Assist PIC/Chair in budgeting for new recruits or adjusting salaries/responsibilities for faculty members, which includes working with Development to raise funds or preparing proposals to request for additional internal funds Research * Work with DOM Vice Chair for Research and HSS Research Administration to monitor DOM Faculty grant submissions, publications, conference presentations and research studies * Partner with Human Resources, Research Administration, Physician Services and Finance to manage and update DOM faculty salary dashboard to guide PIC/Chair's decision-making * Support DOM Research Financial Manager in developing budget plans for DOM researchers * Manage DOM funding sources and develop proposals to ensure sustainability of DOM funds * Liaise with the HSS Development Department to raise funds for research Public Relations/Communications * Partner with HSS Marketing & Communications to promote DOM reputation via internal and external presentations, social media, and the HSS website * Support the PIC/Chair in drafting communications regarding Departmental updates and Physician achievements * Support the efforts to promote HSS at the American College of Rheumatology and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology annual meetings Other General Duties * Support development of reports and presentations to the Medical Board and Board of Trustees * Develop meeting agendas, take and distribute minutes, and draft follow-up emails with action items for team workgroups and standing meetings * Assist PIC/Chair in managing calendars/schedules Experience: * 5 years' experience with Bachelors, or 3+ years of experience with MBA/MHS with experience in strategy or management consulting, preferably in a health care environment * Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills - must be proficient and detail-oriented when conducting data analysis in Excel * Superb presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing - must be proficient in building PPT decks Non-Discrimination Policy Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
