Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in the non-profit industry, based in Kendallville, Indiana. The role involves client intake, eligibility determination, collaboration with various departments, and representation at county events. Responsibilities: - Accurately determine and enroll families into our programs, ensuring compliance with program operations, regulations, and standards. - Collaborate with other departments, programs, and services to ensure maximum benefits to families. - Represent the organization at county inter-agency meetings and other county events. - Maintain a positive, friendly work environment for co-workers, clients, vendors, and the general public. - Provide referral, outreach, and advocacy services for families with other human service organization, utility companies, childcare providers, and other private and public entities. - Adhere to all workplace rules, fiscal procedures, and personnel policies. - Attend and positively participate at all staff meetings, in organizational improvement processes, and detail oriented development trainings. - Monitor and manage customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary. - Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. - Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements - Possess strong customer service skills - Knowledgeable in handling switchboard phones with multiple lines - Proficient in data entry tasks - Experience in data migration - Ability to work in a non-profit environment - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - Highly organized, able to multitask and manage time effectively - Ability to resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally - Proficiency in using computer systems and software - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - High school diploma or equivalent required - Prior experience in a customer service role is preferred - Ability to maintain patient and positive demeanor during interactions with customers - Understanding of the non-profit sector and its unique challenges and operations - Willingness to contribute to the overall mission of the non-profit organization.
