As an Inventory Accountant at MobilityWorks, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost management and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. Responsibilities including but not limited to: Audits and Inventory Management: Conduct physical counts and audits of manufacturing parts/pieces across all retail locations and manufacturing facilities. Coordinate monthly cycle counts and process adjustments resulting from cycle count outcomes. Conduct inventory audits for all locations and/or M&A due diligence. Cost Analysis: Analyze production costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Monitor and report on variances with FIFO and/or standard costing along with aging/obsolescence analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data for cost or inventory accounting analysis. Month-End Close: Prepare month-end closing activities related to cost and inventory accounting. Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to inventory and reserve accounts. Generate financial reports and provide insights into cost and inventory performance for stores and field personnel. Assist the Director of Inventory Accounting with special projects and/or Ad-hoc reporting. Posting Equipment Only, Home Access, and DME proposals to the general ledger. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve inventory accounting functions and inventory management processes. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost-related activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop synergies, streamline workflows, and reduce costs. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-2 years of accounting experience, including internships. Proven experience in cost accounting and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Travel Requirements: Up to 50% travel, as needed for business development. International travel may be required. What We Offer: Competitive compensation packages.
