Description The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a Senior Help Desk Techincian to join our IT Team! This candidate will perform intermediate technical work servicing computers, setting up new and essential software, training staff on proper computer usage and simple fixes, maintaining the integrity of RBHA machines, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Information Technology.Essential FunctionsInstalls new and existing software; performs routine maintenance; researches issues; troubleshoots problems and trains users on operating systems, applications, telephone system, mobile devices, etc.Sets up computer systems and peripherals.Manages help line calls; instructs staff through simple fixes via telephone, remote support or in person as required.Troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware problems.Prepares, corrects, trains users in and troubleshoots errors in documents produced in a variety of software applications.Maintains various records and files on end-user hardware assets, computer applications, maintenance and repairs.Maintains inventory of computer equipment and related hardware and software; orders and replaces parts as requested by Server Admin or the IT Director.Travels offsite as necessary to troubleshoot and fix machine issues.Notifies IT Director for need to outsource services for any jack, Ethernet wiring or repair needed.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesGeneral knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of data processing equipment; general knowledge of systems analysis, programming and networking; general knowledge of the functions and operations of RBHA departments; general knowledge of general office procedures, practices and equipment; skill in the use of data processing equipment; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to install and configure networking hardware and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, associates, vendors and the general public.Position RequirementsEducation and ExperienceAssociates Degree with coursework in computer science, or related field and considerable experience in computer repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical RequirementsThis work requires the regular exertion of up to 15 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling and occasionally requires standing, walking, lifting and repetitive motions; work requires close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception, color perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; worker is regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic).Special RequirementsValid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Open Date 10/21/2024 Close DateAbout the Organization Join the Fearless!
