The Director, Print Production provides support to the Team Leader by performing the daily tasks necessary to implement and execute media plans on behalf of clients. This position will work directly with the client with supervision from the Team Lead. He/she will also have responsibility managing the production process for the account team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDeveloping and sourcing multiple print quote requests including multiple formats, creatives, lot sizes and commingling on-press for split testingCoordinating multiple advertisers using same format for print efficienciesDeveloping print grids to maximize efficiencyReviewing print material and conferring with client or individual responsible for presentation regarding budget, background information, objectives, presentation approaches, styles, techniques, and related production factorsDeveloping basic design concepts into appropriate layouts and prepare layouts for printingObtaining cost estimates from outside vendorsContracting and negotiating terms and deadlines with printersReviews, approves, prepares and presents final layouts to client or department head for approval and printingMonitoring vendor adherence to quality expectations and tight deadlines and budget specificationsAttending press checks when necessaryWorking with account teams to prioritize, track, and maintain records of the elements, costs, and time schedules of multiple projectsProof and approve project details and submit to accounting for invoicingIdentifying and implementing production best practice across the organizationRequirements Bachelor's degree7+ years print production experience and account managementKnowledge in Web, Mini Web and Sheet fed Press operations, variable data printing technology and Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelExperience with Direct Mail envelope, catalog and self-mailer format and various single sheet and multi-panel Insert formatsProficient in Microsoft Excel and working with complicated data files including segmentationAdvanced understanding of current postal regulations and freight best practices
