Developmental Services, Inc. (DSI) Job Description POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Technician DIVISION: Facilities SUPERVISOR: Director of Facilities CLASSIFICATION: Non- Exempt STATUS: Full Time PURPOSE: Provide maintenance services for agency properties, enabling programming to occur in a safe, attractive, functioning environment in compliance with CARF standards. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: * Perform internal/external repair and maintenance of agency properties. May be required to assist in obtaining outside contractors for major items. * Assist in maintaining security, fire alarm, sprinkler, and telephone systems. May be required to assist in inspections for compliance with state regulations. * Assist in performing and maintaining record keeping for fire and tornado drills, and annual fire extinguisher inspection. * Meet with fire/police departments in the event of an alarm. * Cooperate with maintenance staff on joint projects. * 6 Purchase supplies necessary for property repairs and maintenance, as required. * Acquire and maintain departmental equipment, including agency vehicles. * Make recommendations for a safe environment for all staff and consumers. * Must be able to do such physical acts as climb ladder, move office desk or file cabinet with assistance using a dolly. Must be capable of moving up to 50 pounds. * Must be capable of operating normal and customary equipment utilized in a maintenance department including drill, drill press, table saw, floor buffer, snow blade/blower. * Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. * Attend/request related trainings as authorized or required. QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or GED preferred with experience in general maintenance, electrical, and plumbing skills. * Must possess a valid driver's license.
