Peabody Retirement Community - Peabody Retirement Community is hiring a Full Time Maintenance Technician/Grounds Keeper!  Apply today!    POSITION SUMMARY: To provide safety, security, and cleanliness for the entire facility during assigned shift   ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE: Directly reports to the Director of Facilities.  Accountable for the proper interpretation and fulfillment of the position, its essential and non-essential responsibilities and related authority and relationships.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND AUTHORITY: Within the limits of authorized community policies, procedures, programs and budgets, this position has responsibility for and/or will perform the following:   ·       Essential Duties    1.   Complete all assigned work orders.  Lock all doors according to policy Make rounds to ensure all doors remain locked after designated time. Respond to emergencies when called  Make rounds for preventative maintenance Clean dock and ramp (free of trash and complete power washes per policy) During winter season Make rounds to ensure all entries remain free of ice and snow Make rounds to ensure all boilers are functioning Work according to posted schedule including weekends   POSITION REQUIREMENTS:                         Independent judgment and the ability to work without hands on supervision.   EDUCATION:   Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.   WORK EXPERIENCE Must have experience in the field of maintenance/custodial work.   PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS   Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships between other depts. residents and maintenance. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.
