Line Cook

Pitt's is a restaurant opening in Red Hook, Brooklyn this fall by the chef and owner of Agi's Counter (Crown Height, Brooklyn). We are searching for a line cook to join our team who is kind, driven and great on a team.    If we had to choose though, we'll take the latter qualities over the former experience and teach the rest.   We're looking for someone who will make a home with us in this new venture.  Ideally, the candidate would work in a full time PM position! (Wednesday -Sunday) The ideal candidate will have : 1-2 years New York City kitchen experience Passion for creating incredible guest experience Emotional intelligence with a desire to grow your leadership skills Organized approach to managing yourself  Attention to detail Potential and ambition beyond this role Humour and positive energy  A willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team A working knowledge of NYC DOH sanitation standards and regulations  Openness to receiving feedback, with a drive to improve every day Availability on weekends and nights Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Preparing mise en place for your station daily, with adherence to recipes and standards Preparing dishes to order on the line and assisting fellow line cooks when needed Maintaining cleanliness both individually and in shared spaces Communicating clearly and concisely with other cooks and chefs regarding food pars, ordering, inventory, and other pertinent information Core Values: Pitt's is a team of passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to creating great work experiences in the pursuit of eating and drinking well.
