Benefits: Flexible schedule U.S. Security Cleared Professional Translators or Editors - Remote - 1099 Contract - ***Greek******Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current/active security clearance*** GLS, a small business headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan region, is currently seeking talented freelance translators and or editors  to translate or edit legal documents between English and Greek.  GreekEnglish Location: Remote   Status: Contractor, Part-Time  Job Duties:  Provide accurate translation or editing of documents involving law enforcement and legal subject matter from foreign languages into English or vice versa  Edit legal documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong command of legal terminology in both English and the target language  Excellent written communication skills in English and the target foreign language, with Native proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign target language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) scale   Translate in accordance with government client's style guides and quality standards  Use domain-specific terminology  Review and certify the quality of other translators' work as needed  Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror source document format in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio  Abide by a code of ethics when performing transcription and translation work  Minimum Qualifications:  U.S. Citizen residing in the United States in the last five years Holds active Public Trust or higher security clearance. A Public Trust, Clearance Moderate Level, is required  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience  At least 3 years' experience in LEGAL Translating and/or editing between English and  Spanish    Familiar with legal terminology in both English and the target foreign language(s)  Proficient in Microsoft Office  Translators and editors must be proficient using CAT tools, such as SDL Trados    This is a remote position.
