Job Duties and Responsibilities * Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. * Directs and coordinates activities on shift in order to meet production goals. * Oversees all items associated with the quality system (i.e. polar charts, SPC, conformance to prints, etc.). * Recommends and implements continuous improvements to the production process. * Assists in customer problem response and resolution. * Maintains acceptable customer quality standards; maintains the quality of production and takes necessary corrective action to improve. * Reports, monitors and addresses employee work performance. * Responsible for maintaining high standards for safety, housekeeping and general maintenance. * Monitors employee attendance and maintains time off calendars; reviews and approves employee time sheets; initiates employee status transactions in E-time as needed. * Conducts employee performance appraisals. * Performs other duties as required. Qualifications & Skills: * Bachelor's degree preferred * Prior experience supervising in a union environment. * 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Kanban. * Time and process management * Strong focus on improving efficiencies * Strong focus on quality and safety * Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills. * Must have the ability to work overtime and weekends as required. * Must be able to lead projects.
