Manufacturing Engineer - Project Management Location: Morgantown, PA How You Will Make an Impact? The Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager will develop, implementand maintainsafe, optimaland cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance withproduct specifications and quality standards. This role will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methodsand controls. The Nuts and Bolts * Supports research, designand the development of safe manufacturing processes,including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment * Consults with stakeholders to determinefunctional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regardingdesign, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs and construction time. * Prepares and maintainsdetailed layouts of the facilities property, buildingsand equipment * Supports and may lead the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team membersand evaluating results * Designs, developsand tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment, and refrigerated insulation processes for the safe manufacturing of truck bodies and components * Prepares capital projects for new equipment and processes * Safely launches machines, process, methods and/or tooling technologies with >99% effectiveness * Documents lessons learned and communicatesamong the Mfg. Engineering discipline * Provides technical process expertisefor plant and supplier quality issues * Performs other related duties as assigned Required Credentials * Experience managing manufacturing startup projects, including:scope development, business case analysis, execution and closeout. * Proven track recordof successfully completing manufacturing projects on schedule and within budget. * Ability to think strategically and plan projects over a 6-12 monthhorizon * Experience with existing manufacturing technologies, including but not limited to:welding, joining, metal working, manual assembly; certification in a field is a plus * 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, 4+ years of work experience in a comparable industry * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering desired. * Experience with factory automation, maintenance, and integrating engineering designs into production - highly desirable * Practical Lean principles experience with proven success using the tools * Computer proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, Minitab * Proven ability to facilitatechange and knowledge of lean tools and techniques * Strong leadership experience and strong teamplayer * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral * Quality orientation and attention to detail * Problem analysis and problem resolution;Green Belt certification, Black Belt a plus You Must Be Able to * Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. At times, this job operatesin a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required totalk or hear. The employee frequentlyis required tostand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
