Sr. Project Manager operates rental cars in a safe manner to move them to and from various locations of the car rental facility. Dispatches drivers to perform tasks as directed by the car rental company (ABM's customer). According to the direction of the District Manager, performs quality inspections, and may recommend disciplinary actions to the District Manager/HR Manager. Annual Salary Range: $68,000 - $72,000 The pay listed is the pay range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Ability to quickly make sound decisions under pressure. * Safely operates vehicles while observing speed limits and slower reasonable speeds in the presence of pedestrians, obstacles, bright sunlight glare, darkness, etc. and assures leads and drivers do the same. * Oversees the movement of (or moves) vehicles from one point to another under the direction of the customer or account manager. * Performs frequent walk-arounds to assess the effectiveness of the team as well as monitor potential trouble spots needing attention to resolve. * Assures all employees falling under this position's supervision are kept busy, efficiently performing their duties. * Constantly assesses the facility to be proactive in directing the movement of vehicles to required destinations. * Maintains frequent contact with the customer. Seeks direction as needed from the appropriate source. * Serves as a role model by providing positive example of how job should be accomplished. Provides training as necessary to establish acceptable practices and correct deficiencies, etc. when remedial training is required. * Constantly looks for and suggests improvements to enhance safety and increase productivity. * Identifies, corrects and/or communicates safety issues to first and then the customer. * Ensures drivers properly use signaling methodologies (flashers on, trunk open, keys in door, etc.) to signify various pre-established meanings. * Ensures drivers park vehicles leaving them in pre-agreed-upon states, i.e. windows up, radio turned down then off, glove box, etc. closed, keys in door, etc. * Ensures cars are "parked in class" as directed by the customer. * Ensures cars are washed in the carwash in such a manner that they are clean and that they do not receive damage in the process. * Ensures accident reports are accurately completed when a vehicle is damaged in any way and that the accident is promptly reported to the District Manager, Safety, Claims and Customer. * Looks for root causes of accidents and communicates findings to the District Manager first then to the customer in an effort to eliminate or mitigate the causes in the future. * Counsels, trains or disciplines employees as appropriately when they have caused an accident or are observed doing the job in an unsafe manner. * Dispatches "transporters" and monitors their productivity, effectiveness, time efficiency, etc. Provides guidance as necessary. * Performs time keeping functions such as assuring all employees clock in and out properly. * Makes decisions about releasing excess-for-the-day employees while keeping in mind likely spikes in demands for drivers that likely could occur before shift end. * Sends employees home or offers the opportunity to leave early on a basis that is fair to all. * As a good steward of ABM assets, assures only the number of employees are kept on duty to fulfill shift requirements. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college preferred or one to years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months minimum past leadership or supervisory experience desired. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Moderate noise will exist in the presence of operating equipment. Because a large part of the job is outside of vehicles, employee will be exposed to temperatures that are uncomfortably cold to extremely hot as well as occasional rain, wind with blowing dust, etc. Driving will occur at times when the sun's glare or direct blasts of sunlight provide additional challenges to safe vehicle operation. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; briskly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of vehicles sometimes with restricted access and with various height seats. All provide an extra tax on the ability to get into and out of vehicles easily. Normally lifting will not be an issue.
