SummaryAs Senior Production Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Linden plant's production schedules are optimized to best deliver total company customer service, cost and inventory targets. The role requires a combination of strong manufacturing understanding & data analytical skills as well as excellent communication & cross-functional collaboration. Success in this role is determined by the person's ability to proactively analyze firm sales orders as well as forecasted demand and schedule the batch making operations in the most effective manner possible. This is a high visibility role reporting to the Director of Supply Chain & Procurement with a strong relationship to the site plant manager.Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned.Own the production schedule for all Linden operations ensuring that itBest meets customer needs (maximize fill rate across all sites as it relates to Linden output) Minimizes change-over losses (downtime, scrap)Minimizes schedule changes within the target frozen zoneMinimizes lead time from receiving customer order (external & internal) to shipping productOptimizes use of inventory (finished and raw)Own Linden capacity ensuring near-term and long-term requirements are defined and appropriately analyzedEnsure raw & pack material requirements are quickly identified, communicated to Procurement (partnering for any issue resolution), and are built into production schedulesAct as a seamless partner with Linden plant teamEnsure plant team has clear & stable production plans to optimize staffingUnderstand Linden site issues and concerns and ensure that those are built into plansProvide clear communication and support to Linden teamServe as site ERP expert as it relates to supply planningPartner with Sales & Customer ServiceMaintain strong, positive, effective communicationAnswer all new order and change requests within the allotted timeEnsure credibility internally and to customers in terms of delivery timeAccurately provide shipping dates to customer service team and convey any changes that occur related to production or raw material delays. Partner with Flavor Business overall planning teamActively contribute as a team member on cross-site production optimizationProactively communicate timing of intersite deliveries as well as identify issues / risks / concerns for the team to work onPartner with team on ERP management as it relates to supply planning Serve as single point of contact for Linden supply planning and readiness Provide intersite delivery dates and track related manufacturing and transfersParticipate in overall business capacity planning, ensuring Linden capacity constraints, processes and equipment needs are understood and appropriately incorporated into the plans. Courage - Stepping up to address difficult issues saying what needs to be said.Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree preferred in business administration, engineering, economics, or supply chain. 3+ years' experience in a planning role in a high changeover batch-making environment, preferably in food and beverage industry with demonstrated experience optimizing batch sizes and sequences to drive overall unit performance. Strong scheduling and ability to analyze production capacities and staffing requirements. Previous experience, 3+ years, in working with commercial teams in planning customer requirements. Preferred experience in flavor business with knowledge of complex flavor production technologies and preferred experience in demand planning. Computer skillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge and familiarity of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage, MRP). Extremely proficient with excel with overall proficiency with windows operating system including excel, outlook, word, access, and power point.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
