Maintenance Technician - $28.89 Core Competencies * Chemical plant safety and safe work practices * Be willing to operate in a multi-craft environment including acceptance of additional duties * Communication and interpersonal skills to achieve teamwork and collaboration with others in the workgroup as well as internal and external customers * Adaptability to changing demands of a 24/7 plant operation * Problem-solving; able to work through problems in stressful conditions and make good decisions Essential Job Responsibilities, Qualifications and Skills * Comply with all environmental, safety, and health policies and safe work practices * Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations * Actively participate in the site safety, quality, ME, and 5-S teams * Able to understand the safe use of tools commonly used by industrial craftsmen * Good understanding of the fundamentals of fans, blowers, conveyors, gear boxes, belt drives, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and vacuum pumps * Good understanding of fundamentals of mechanical seals, and the troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the same * Troubleshooting of equipment performance problems * Skilled in analyzing information and reporting findings * Knowledge of plant preventative and predictive maintenance systems * Determine repairs needed and recommend replacement parts and options for solution * Maintains inventories of equipment spare parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders * Work from heights * Physically able to lift and move 50 pounds * Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite * Basic insulation and painting practices * Cutting and threading pipe * Operate basic maintenance vehicles such as lift truck, high reach, and scissors lift Education and Experience Requirements * High school diploma/GED with minimum 2 years industrial experience
