Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift will be responsible for all manufacturing activities as required to safely produce quality products by efficiently utilizing labor and materials on the scheduled shift. It is expected that the Production Supervisor will be reliable and able to work with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and 5S standards at all times. Job Duties: * Supervise assigned team of employees (60 employees/shift). Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these employees as well as directly supervise non-supervisory (lead) employees. * Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues. * Process a solid working knowledge of SQF and GMP policies and procedures, SAP processes, OSHA regulations (including state specific regulations), HFS HPS/LEAN tools and Microsoft Office. * Direct the conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost. * Control raw material formula consistency. * Monitor proper inventory rotation of raw materials and packaging. * Work with employees to investigate any scheduling and/or payroll-related issues. * Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan operations. * Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. * Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. * Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law. * Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies, this includes complying with customer service standards as well. * Perform other duties as assigned. Required Competencies & Knowledge: Knowledge of: * Hearthside procurement, products, and production processes or a willingness to learn * Knowledge and experience with SAP and MS Office Suite Skills/Abilities: * Well-developed influence management skills * Prioritizes work based on short- and long-term objectives * Personnel and performance management * Work in a fast-paced environment * Write routine reports and correspondences * Teach simple math functions such as add, subtract, multiply, divide Minimum Qualifications: * 2 year college degree in business or related field required; Four-year college degree preferred.
